We are proud to announce that Lineo has won the "JEC Innovation Award 2010" in the biocomposite category. Despite a very strong competition, the racket "820 Flax fiber" developed with the help of our partners, has kept the attention of the jury.
We especially wish to thank the following partners:
- Decathlon - Artengo: that has developed, with our flax/epoxy prepregs, the racket "820 flax fibers.
-Huntsman: that has helped us to validate the process of impregnation of flax fibres
-The LRPMN, laboratory attached to the IUT of Alencon, has validated the mechanical properties and studied the vibration behavior of flax fibres
We will be happy to share this joy with you at the JEC-Paris exhibition, during the Awards ceremony, April 13. Meet us on the stand M80. |

After 2 years of development with Artengo, the tennis racket brand of Decathlon, tennis rackets reinforced with flax fibers are finally available to the general public. As explained on the website dedicated to this new racket, the blend of flax and carbon fibres allows to maintain optimum performance through the rigidity of carbon and to reduce vibration of the frame in the capacity of flax. The first model developed by Artengo is called "820 Flax fiber". New models are still out in late 2009 and during 2010. We welcome the commitment to innovation of Decathlon because incorporate flax fibres in tennis rackets is a true technological innovation that brings new properties to tennis rackets.
Decathlon, strongly interested in the properties of flax fibers is not stopping to rackets. Other sport equipments are coming out in 2010 and 2011 with flax.
Below are photos of the tennis racket and screenshots of the video made by Artengo:

By testing and doing developments during this summer, Sun7 has been convinced and has put flax in their boards. This reduces the use of synthetic fibres (glass and carbon) while maintaining the same level of performance. Flax adds even an asset to the boards by reducing vibrations. Here are the photos from the website of Sun7 : On the following link, you will find an article from U-ride (in french) in which Sun7 exhibits its flax reinforced boards. Here are some photos from the article: |
