Decathlon produces flax reinforced tennis rackets

After 2 years of development with Artengo, the tennis racket brand of Decathlon, tennis rackets reinforced with flax fibers are finally available to the general public. As explained on the website dedicated to this new racket, the blend of flax and carbon fibres allows to maintain optimum performance through the rigidity of carbon and to reduce vibration of the frame in the capacity of flax. The first model developed by Artengo is called "820 Flax fiber". New models are still out in late 2009 and during 2010. 

We welcome the commitment to innovation of Decathlon because incorporate flax fibres in tennis rackets is a true technological innovation that brings new properties to tennis rackets.

Decathlon, strongly interested in the properties of flax fibers is not stopping to rackets. Other sport equipments are coming out in 2010 and 2011 with flax.
